Restricted Products
Not every organisation should see or buy every product. dCommerce supports restricted products so catalogue visibility and purchasing can reflect distribution agreements, territories, or account ranges.
Restrictions are evaluated on the organisation. A signed-in buyer in the customer portal sees the range that belongs to their account.
What this capability covers
- Restricting products to designated customer organisations
- Tailoring what appears in an organisation’s catalogue
- Keeping purchasing rules aligned with offline commercial arrangements
The same product can be generally available to some organisations and limited for others - without maintaining separate disconnected catalogues.
Why it matters
Wholesale catalogues often encode who is allowed to buy what. When those rules are enforced at order capture, trade customers self-serve within the right boundaries, and internal teams spend less time correcting invalid lines after the fact.
The guest storefront is a public catalogue. Treat it as a discovery surface; account-restricted range belongs on the customer portal, where the organisation is known.
