Shipment

Fulfilment updates in dCommerce - how shipments reflect progress against an order.

A shipment represents fulfilment progress against an order - typically that goods have been (or are being) shipped from a warehouse.

In summary

Once an order is accepted into fulfilment, trade customers and internal users need status that reflects what has left the warehouse. Shipments capture that update so the ordering layer stays aligned with what the back office has done.

Status is visible in the admin console and, for the ordering organisation, in the customer portal.

You do not need ERP integration for shipment status to exist in dCommerce. When ERP integration is enabled, fulfilment updates commonly originate from the system of record and are reflected back into dCommerce across channels.

How it connects

  • Relates to an order (and may align with how batches were processed)
  • Ships from a warehouse - the distribution point assigned to fulfilment
  • Supports status visibility for staff and for buyers on the customer portal
  • Capability context: Order Workflow
