A product is an item in your catalogue that can be presented and ordered - typically identified by a business code and name, with status and selling rules attached.
In summary
Products are the SKUs (or equivalent) your customer organisations browse and add to orders. Beyond name and code, a product may carry quantity rules (such as minimums or pack multiples), grouping for navigation - including merchandise groups - images, and eligibility rules for specific organisations.
Trade customers see products in the customer portal. Guests may see a public view on the guest storefront. Your team maintains products in the admin console.
